{designitgirlblog} Chairy Red Riding Hood: The REVEL

The Reveal:

Shes ready for the next step, more to come on that...

I had so much fun, painting, sanding, and painting again and again! Red is a color that needs several coats to achieve the right shade. I decided to paint just enough to get the shade of Red that I wanted. I realized when painting that I really like the look of the natural wood color slightly showing through. I am happy with the results and this is just the beginning of many, many more great projects to come.

Chairy Red Riding Hood has become the beginning of another great way for me to express my love for design, my passion for chairs, and the meaning of"Keeping It Green" -Nicole Keeping furniture from landfills and being able to give them a new home, keeps these furniture pieces in circulation for many more years to come. Thank you for your comments and "likes". Feel free to comment here!

When I began removing the material from the seat, {omg} there was about four different layers of materials covering this seat. It took about and hour to remove the 1,000 nails and staples too {lol}
It was well worth it. I envisioned the color I would paint her and the material I would use as soon as I saw in the store.

                 Cant wait for the next chair project! Thank you for reading my blog!

{designitgirlblog} Chairy Red Riding Hood: Part 1

{designitgirlblog} Chairy Red Riding Hood!

{Part1}

I purchased this chair at Goodwill, and at 50% off , I couldn't resist. I knew right away what color I was going to paint her
Riding hood Red! Your probably wondering why I am naming the color Riding hood Red? well, its a project, a new idea that I have been thinking about and keeping notes of for a while now. I am full of ideas and inspired by many things, and its frustrating at times when I cant dedicate 100% of my time to design, (yet)! I am currently working on another blog, you will see this post their too, the before &after. I am very excited to work on this new blog with my daughter, who is an armature Photographer!

                                    What do you think so far?
                          Stay tuned for tomorrows post.
                              She's ready for primer.

{designitgirlblog} Chairy Red Riding Hood

{Part3}

Chairy Red Riding Hood is coming along great! One coat of paint applied so far, two more coats to go! Since the chair is originally a dark wood stain two coats are needed. There is primer in the paint, but a few more coats will get the exact desired color needed to complete her look!.

Here she is so far:

                                                        What do you think so far?
All she needs is a few more coats and a new seat makeover,
and she will look brand new!
